Bowman, an Oak Parker for most of his life — a Chicagoan since May of 2015 — was a Chicago Daily News reporter (on religion) and a Chicago Tribune columnist (on Chicago history). He has been a columnist for the Wednesday Journal of Oak Park & River Forest and also blogs at that publication’s Oak Park Newspapers.
He and his wife raised their six children in Oak Park, sending them to Beye, Emerson Junior High, and Oak Park & River Forest High School in the 70s, 80s and 90s.
